Bag best mortgage and beat the pay freeze

Moneygate is urging people to shop around to make household savings after research suggests that more than half of private sector workers are set to be crippled by a second pay freeze this year.

In a further blow, the survey of nearly 900 chief executives from the Chartered Management Institute, warned of bleak prospects facing anybody looking for a job, as most bosses have 'closed their doors to new recruits'.

But Annabel Green, of national IFA Moneygate, said by taking the time to shop around for the best deals on everything from insurance and mortgages to investments can save considerable sums of money.

She said: “News of an expected pay freeze comes at a time when many workers are already struggling to pay household bills, which have shot up in the past year. But by taking a bit of time to look at all your household out-goings and expenditure, you can save quite a lot of money each month.

“There are some decent deals available at the moment and collectively the savings you make can add up to quite a sum – house insurance, car insurance, life assurance, loans, pensions, savings and investments to name a few.

“Just taking a few minutes to talk to someone who can shop around and look at what are the best deals available for you could really end up saving you a decent amount of cash.”
